Installing Google Chromium OS on MS Windows

The general steps:

  • Downloading the software
  • Installing VirtualBox
  • Installing Google Chromium OS

Downloading Chromium OS and VirtualBox

Since you will be installing an operating system on top of an operating system, you will need to do some virtualization and run Google Chromium OS on a virtual machine. Techcrunch has successfully done this with VirtualBox on a Mac. Gdgt.com has a guide on how to install Chromium using VMWare. In this how-to guide, we will use VirtualBox running on a Windows PC. We will need to download both a Google Chrome VMWare or VirtualBox image where we can either use the one on Techcrunch, or on Gdgt.com, and also the VirtualBox software itself.

  1. Download VirtualBox for Windows.
  2. Download Google Chrome image torrent or download them from Gdgt.com which may require you to sign up on their website.

After this you may now install VirtualBox by following the instructions on the next page.

  1. Very Precious, let me try this soon. I think this is very valuable for everyone! :)

  2. I’m just really hoping that when they release the Google OS, it won’t be as buggy as when they released the Chrome for the first time. I mean, I love Google and I’m pretty excited about this, but I just want them to keep their good name.
