Meet the minds that make things happen

thad-kahlow

CEO

Finance leader turned CEO, Thad is equally at home thinking about the numbers and engaging in the boardroom. After more than 20 years leading BOL to success, you may wonder how Thad keeps our company on the cutting-edge of B2B marketing and the answer is simple… he cares. Thad cares about his team and his clients, and continually works to cultivate an environment in which both can thrive. A servant leader through and through, Thad leads BOL with a people-first mentality that empowers his team to do their best work and overdeliver for our clients every day. Aligning business objectives with technology, Thad finds balance between data-driven growth strategies and an empathetic approach to marketing. An absolute nerd about ABM, if you ask him about it, you’d better be prepared for a long conversation.

Thad genuinely loves his role as a leader in B2B marketing, but he’d probably say the best job he’s ever had is being a dad. Proving our “work from anywhere” policy, Thad even lived with his family of five in Latin America for a year, surfing the waves of Costa Rica with his kids and avoiding mischievous monkeys in the rainforest.

nathalie-jans

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Nathalie is a person of many talents. She can spearhead growth strategies, oversee operations, and fly a plane. Yeah, we were impressed too. After making her way stateside from the Netherlands, Nathalie honed her skills working at digital marketing agencies managing big name accounts like Verizon, Coach, and Chase. She then transitioned to managing CS teams, driving strategy with big picture thinking and pragmatic actions. Nat is a project person–she lives for a challenge. That’s why we continue to innovate as we push for growth, and why her house is a constant DIY construction zone. And while Nathalie loves a good brainstorm session with the team, don’t ask her to drive there. She refuses to drive a car.

john-battistini

Chief Creative Officer

Fast-talking, fast-acting, and sometimes a little wacky, John encourages his teams to create without limits. The more “out there” an idea is, the more he wants to see it. John has spent 25+ years creating engaging experiences for both B2B and B2C audiences. Prior to joining BOL, John led teams crafting award-winning campaigns and digital experiences for clients, including American Express, Starbucks, Virgin Atlantic, Discovery, PwC, Unilever, Mitsubishi Power, Citigroup, Samsung, T. Rowe Price, ADP, Citrix, GE, Businessolver, and Novelis.

kim-wright

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

One thing you need to know about Kim–she doesn’t do boring. She’s created transformative campaigns for some of the most recognized brands in the world, including Toyota, and earned a Cannes Finalist award. She has worked for shops like Saatchi & Saatchi LA, Chiat/Day, Deutsch, and 72 and Sunny, and launched her own agency, Bridge13. At constant war against average work, Kim pushes the boundaries of B2B creative with originality and style.

eric-dome

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

What do Matt Damon, Whoopi Goldberg, Richard Simmons, and the GEICO Gecko have in common? Eric has written for all of them. His biggest skill is coming up with memorable ideas that drive business. Eric’s campaign credits include “Make it Great” for Pizza Hut, “Humanly Possible” for Manpower, “Silence Won’t Finish the Fight”, for the American Cancer Society, and “Save Money, Live Better” for a tiny retailer named Walmart. When Eric isn’t creative directing, he’s either scuba diving or chasing squirrels with his pitbull, Sox.

miles-levitt

VP of CLIENT OPS + PARTNERSHIPS

Miles is an experienced marketing technologist who has spent more than a decade helping tech-forward clients evolve and achieve aggressive operational goals. Drawn to technology because of its ability to disrupt outdated constructs and create new business models, Miles uses his specialized skills to solve our clients' most complex challenges. Miles is the person who actually knows what all those marketing acronyms stand for, and how to apply them to a comprehensive, technology-driven strategy.

greg-smith

GROUP ACCOUNT DIRECTOR

Greg is an experienced performance marketer with over 15 years of experience, nearly 7 of which have been spent at BOL. He came to us with hands-on experience in paid media, giving him unique insight into campaign strategy and execution. Greg is dedicated to helping our clients grow by providing strategic account oversight and ensuring delivery against our clients’ goals. Thanks to his meteorology degree, you’ll often hear Greg giving weather forecasts to his colleagues, and we pretend we don’t use our phones to check the weather.

alex-coutu

ACCOUNT DIRECTOR

Alex has spent the last decade in marketing at PR, media advertising, and creative agencies specializing in private label and sports marketing focused on consumer engagement for Sunday Night Football and the Olympics. Seeking new challenges, Alex transitioned from B2C to B2B marketing, applying her skills to a new industry. When she's not driving marketing programs forward, Alex spends her time paddleboarding, listening to live music, and eating her way through Austin with her pup, Wes, in tow.

justin-nielsen

account director

With more than 14 years of experience in digital project management, Justin leads our PMO office with a get-things-done attitude. Prior to BOL, Justin worked at Sony Electronics in a similar capacity as a Sr. Web Producer, preparing him to become a lead “cat herder” for our internal projects and strategic initiatives. Outside of the office, Justin enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, playing soccer, and being a reluctant Nebraska football fan.

lizzie-magnarelli

SENIOR DIRECTOR OF PAID MEDIA

Lizzie has spent the last decade supporting B2B brands large and small, from tech startups to Fortune 500 brands. A data-lover and a self-proclaimed media nerd, she's always looking for the next interesting opportunity for clients to use paid media to drive awareness and revenue. When she's not plotting a new way to segment your data, you can catch her hiking the mountains of New Hampshire, exploring new cities, or just trying not to kill another tomato plant.

tim-herscovitch

Senior Director of Growth

Tim is a 2-time Webby Award-winning digital marketing executive with over 12 years of experience driving growth for businesses of all sizes, including several Fortune 500 brands. A Search expert, Tim is a technical-leaning SEO pro who is frequently the visionary liaison between a company's web developers and their boardroom. Nicknamed "the Professor," Tim has been a college lecturer since 2013, and brings his hunger for knowledge to his digital practice every day. An avid rock climber and poker player (with two cashes in the World Series of Poker to his name so far), Tim's competitive spirit thrives in highly challenging and dynamic environments. When he's not exploring Oregon's mountains, rivers, or craft beer scene, you can find him releasing music under his instrumental jazz-rock project, Poseidon's Alley.

catfish-comstock

SENIOR DIRECTOR OF SEO + AI STRATEGY

Catfish (yes, you read that right) has been keeping BOL at the forefront of B2B SEO for nearly two decades. Over his 25 years in the industry, Catfish has helped numerous Fortune 500 and B2B technology companies improve their organic search performance with cutting-edge strategies that result in big wins. His track record includes working with Pfizer, HPE, Solidworks, Grammatech, Workday, Cisco, and many others. In our minds, Catfish is to BOL what Zakk Wylde is to guitar–he’s a rockstar. That goes for outside the office, too. Catfish may be developing new strategies for SEO campaigns by day, but by night, you might catch him performing with his band, the Cyborg Assassins, around Las Vegas.
